Building Green Action Power: A Lesson from Critical Thinking to Real-World Practice
On Saturday, July 26, 2025, we hosted a powerful and thought-provoking event—the 2025 Summer Environmental Sustainability Thinking Workshop. More than just a class on knowledge, this workshop emphasized action. It invited youth who care deeply about sustainability to dive into diverse environmental topics and discover how to turn awareness into impactful change.
Why This Workshop Matters
In just three hours, participants engaged in expert-led talks and small group discussions that unpacked complex issues like climate change, sustainable development, and systems thinking. The session guided participants to reflect on a key question:
When we talk about “sustainability,” what can we actually do?
From Climate Challenges to Systems Thinking
Whether you’re a high school student passionate about environmental issues or a young creator seeking a direction for action, this workshop offered a meaningful starting point for your sustainability journey.

From Learning to Speaking Up: Write Your Sustainability Reflection
After the workshop, participants were invited to write reflective articles on environmental topics. These pieces could be featured on the Hsinchu Love Action Blog or submitted to the international high school journal JSR (Journal of Student Research)—amplifying your voice and spreading your ideas to a wider audience.
A Moment of Change
This workshop was more than just a lecture. One of the most touching reflections came from a participant named Casper, who shared:
“I thought I already knew a lot about environmental issues, but after today, I realized there’s still so much I don’t know—and so much more I can do.”
That moment, captured on video, became a quote that moved many in the room.
Associate General Manager Lin Xiaolan, one of our guest speakers, smiled brightly upon hearing Casper’s words. Another participant, Henry, said he gained entirely new perspectives, while Angie, who joined this kind of workshop for the first time, remarked, “The content was so fresh—it sparked my interest in sustainability.”
Although the group was small, every student was highly engaged in the discussions. They even brainstormed a creative sustainability project: a fictional startup called “Solo Meatball Company”, blending fun with deep thinking.
Words from Our Co-founder Depheny
」 Co-founder Dephany shared:
“I'm truly grateful for the founding of Hsinchu Love Action. This platform has allowed me to gather resources and bring together like-minded people to work on meaningful projects together.
Casper’s closing remarks in the video today really moved and delighted me. I’d like to share a bit of background—after the Love Binti event in Africa, I had encouraged Casper to join today’s workshop. As he mentioned during the session, he initially felt he already knew a lot about sustainability.
But after the workshop, he said he realized there’s still so much more he didn’t know, and even more he could do. He felt he had gained a lot. Hearing that made AG Manager Lin very happy, too.
Henry also said he learned a lot. For Angie, this was her first time attending such a session, and she found it refreshing and inspiring. Though the group was small, everyone was fully engaged—and they even came up with a project idea: the fictional ‘Solo Meatball Company’! That gave us all a good laugh.” 😊

We believe that small yet meaningful changes can lead to lasting impact.Let knowledge become the seed of action—let sustainability be more than just a slogan, but a conscious choice we make every day.
The "Environmental Sustainability Thinking Workshop" was not just another lecture;it was a moment of awakening—for both thought and action.
We hope to see you at the next one.

Reflections from the Workshop: Rethinking What Sustainability Means
One participant, Casper, shared that he initially thought he was already very familiar with environmental issues. Yet after the session, he honestly admitted:
“I thought I already knew a lot, but I realized there’s still so much I don’t know—and so much more I can do.”
This heartfelt reflection became one of the most powerful moments of the day.
Guest speaker AG Manager Lin Xiaolan, along with participants like Henry and Angie, expressed how much they gained from the experience.
During small group discussions, students even came up with a wildly creative yet sustainability-themed idea: a fictional startup called “Solo Meatball Company.” It was fun, bold, and rooted in purpose.
