2025 Summer 新住民英語營 English Camp for New Immigrant Families

2025 Summer 新住民英語營舉辦於 7/21(一)至7/25(五)，一群熱心的師長與學生們攜手舉辦了新住民英語營，陪伴來自不同文化背景的新住民家庭，一起學習英語、認識台灣，打造一個充滿歡笑與包容的學習環境。

In the summer of 2025, a group of devoted teachers and students came together to organize the English Camp for New Immigrant Families, creating a joyful, inclusive space where families from diverse cultural backgrounds could learn English and get to know Taiwan better.

Opening New Doors Through English

英語營設計了許多生活化的主題課程，從超市購物、交通指引到日常對話，幫助新住民家庭在生活中更自在地使用英語，也讓孩子們勇敢開口，建立自信。

The camp featured practical, everyday English lessons, covering topics such as grocery shopping, transportation, and basic daily conversations. These sessions helped new immigrant families feel more comfortable using English in daily life and encouraged children to speak up confidently.

多元文化，彼此尊重

Embracing Diversity with Mutual Respect

來自越南、印尼、泰國、菲律賓等不同國家的家庭參與了這次活動。課堂中，學員們互相介紹自己的家鄉、美食與文化，彼此欣賞、互相學習，形成了一個溫暖且尊重差異的大家庭。

Families from Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and other countries joined the camp. During class, participants introduced their hometowns, shared traditional foods, and exchanged cultural stories, building a warm and respectful multicultural community.

課程紀錄｜Day 1 搭飛機出國去！

Day 1: Flying Abroad! (Instructor: Xin Wang)

孩子們在第一天學習了機場情境的基礎英文對話，包括登機報到、安檢與通關等實用句型。課程透過角色扮演、互動遊戲與學習單，讓孩子們不只動腦也動手，在模擬的環境中建立自信，掌握出國旅遊的第一步。

On the first day, the students learned essential English for airport scenarios, such as check-in, security check, and passport control. Through role-playing, interactive games, and worksheets, they built confidence in speaking and experienced a realistic travel environment.

課程紀錄｜Day 2 點餐英文我最行！

Day 2: Ordering Food with Confidence! (Instructor: Angie Lo)

第二天進入「點餐英文」的主題，孩子們認識了食物相關的英文單字與點餐句型。課程設計了餐廳點餐的模擬對話活動，並強調禮貌用語的使用，讓孩子們學會如何清楚且有禮貌地向店員點餐，也增進了日常生活中的實用口語能力。

The second day focused on food and restaurant English. Students learned vocabulary related to meals and practiced ordering through role-play activities. They also learned polite expressions to use when placing orders, improving their practical communication skills for real-life situations.

課程紀錄｜Day 3 來去百貨公司！

Day 3: A Trip to the Department Store! (Instructor: Melody Fan)

透過購物為主題的英文學習，孩子們學習如何購買衣服等日常用品時的實用英文句型，並透過遊戲設計進行模擬購物體驗。孩子們一邊用英文詢問價格與尺寸，一邊認識了更多生活情境中會用到的實用字彙與對話方式。

Shopping was the theme of Day 3. Students learned useful English expressions for buying clothes, stationery, and other everyday items. Through fun games and role-play, they practiced asking about prices, sizes, and preferences, all while expanding their vocabulary in a realistic context.

課程紀錄｜Day 4 介紹台灣夜市

Day 4: Introducing Taiwan's Night Markets! (Instructor: Lucas Chen)

這一天的課程結合了文化與語言學習，孩子們用英文介紹台灣夜市的特色美食與攤位。有些學生首次用英文介紹「珍珠奶茶」與「臭豆腐」，不但發音標準，也展現出自信。課程中也強調在地文化的價值與特色，鼓勵孩子向外國朋友介紹自己的家鄉。

Day 4 combined cultural appreciation with language skills. Students practiced describing Taiwan's night market foods and booths in English. Many of them proudly introduced local specialties like bubble tea and stinky tofu for the first time in English, gaining both confidence and cultural pride.

課程紀錄｜Day 5 角色扮演與成果發表

Day 5: Role-Play and Final Presentation

最後一天的課程是綜合應用，孩子們分組設計短劇，將整週所學的英文運用在機場、餐廳、商店等情境中演出。演出後，每位孩子也親手寫下感謝卡，送給辛苦教學的哥哥姊姊，表達他們的謝意與學習心得。

On the final day, students collaborated in groups to create short skits that incorporated what they had learned throughout the week. They performed scenarios set in airports, restaurants, and stores, showcasing their progress. At the end, each child wrote a thank-you card for the teaching team, expressing their gratitude and reflections.
