我們今天要介紹的這位音樂才子，正是一位將天賦、努力與感性完美融合的靈魂音樂人—Lucas Chen，本次特別邀請他創作新竹愛心小隊主題曲-好的(Good Day)。

Today, we are introducing a musical prodigy who perfectly blends talent, hard work, and emotion—Lucas Chen. He is the soulful musician we’ve specially invited to compose the theme song "Good Day" for the Hsinchu Love Action.

以下是來自Lucas Chen的分享—讓我們一起來看他的音樂創作故事 (Here is a message from Lucas Chen—Let’s take a look at his journey of musical creation)

鋼琴，一個我從小至今學了快14年的樂器，現在回想起來也覺得好不可思議。

The piano—an instrument I’ve been learning for almost 14 years since I was a child—feels almost unbelievable when I look back on it now.

我應該是被媽媽騙去上課的，媽媽一直說：「很好玩可以唱唱跳跳。」於是我便跳進那個跟我奮戰許久，每每只要坐在椅子上就讓我痛不欲生的鋼琴時間。

I was probably tricked into lessons by my mom—she kept saying it would be fun, with singing and dancing. And so, I stepped into what became a long battle with the piano, an instrument that made me miserable every time I sat down on that bench.

即使在我人生當中的2次骨折我媽依舊沒有讓我偷懶過，剩單手還是繼續彈啊!小時候我問媽媽為何會讓我去學琴呢?

Even during the two times I fractured bones in my life, my mom never let me slack off—I kept playing with just one hand! When I was little, I asked her why she made me learn the piano in the first place.

得到的答案是：「因為你好動啊！都坐不住！」

The answer I got was: “Because you were so hyperactive! You couldn’t sit still!”

媽媽說：「想說彈琴一定要坐著，看能不能試著讓我當一個安靜的小孩。」

My mom said, “I figured playing the piano requires sitting still, so maybe it could help you become a quieter, more calm child.”

哈哈就因為這些理由外加拐騙，我一坐便是快14年。

Haha—and because of those reasons plus a little trickery, I ended up sitting at the piano for nearly 14 years.

回想當初學琴的過程，那只有2個字可形容-痛苦。我痛苦媽媽也痛苦。

Looking back on the process of learning piano, there are only two words to describe it—painful. I was in pain, and so was my mom.

因為YAMAHA親子課程就是一個要父母陪同的課，而我畢竟才四歲可能在理解上還需要媽媽幫忙，無論是解釋或是抄聯絡本，上課、下課都需要盯場。

Because the YAMAHA parent-child course requires parental accompaniment, and since I was only four years old, I still needed my mom’s help to understand—whether it was explaining things or copying the contact book. She had to supervise me both during and after class.

一個是怕我太瘋狂老師招駕不住，另一個是盯著練習，總之就是有雙眼無時無刻的盯著我，有時像書僮有時像教官。

One was afraid I’d get too wild for the teacher to handle, and the other kept a close watch on my practice. In short, there were always eyes on me—sometimes like a servant, sometimes like a drill sergeant.

多少次的親子紛爭在這些年中發生，這樣的我們能不痛苦嗎？

How many times did parent-child conflicts happen over these years? Could we not have been in pain?

不過就在這些爭執、痛苦中我居然無形的養出了我的音感，一個看似沒什麼幫助的才能。

Yet, amidst all these arguments and pain, I somehow unknowingly developed my sense of pitch—a talent that seemed insignificant at the time.

沒想到現在居然能把在日常生活中聽到的音樂變成琴鍵上跳動的音符，甚至不需要譜我也能彈奏出弦律，媽媽時常說很羨慕，因為她也跟著我一起坐在教室多年，但就是聽不出來。

I never expected that now I could turn the music I hear in everyday life into notes dancing on the piano keys. Sometimes, I can even play melodies without sheet music. My mom often says she’s jealous because she sat with me in the classroom for years but still couldn’t pick up on it.

現在想起老師說的音感的養成期四歲開始，過了就沒有原來是這樣。

Now that I think about it, the teacher said the critical period for developing a sense of pitch starts at age four—after that, it’s much harder to develop. So that’s how it is.

也要感謝我的媽媽，即使我小時候常常哭著要放棄，她依舊陪伴著我，鼓勵著我不要放棄。

I also want to thank my mom— even though I often cried and wanted to give up when I was little, she stayed by my side and encouraged me not to quit.

她說：「學起來了誰也搶不走。」

She said, “Once you’ve learned it, no one can take it away from you.”

現在看來是真的耶！很開心能彈我喜歡的動漫音樂，也能因為心情而創作出不同的音樂，讓我能在面臨壓力的時候也能減壓情緒，真正的享受音樂帶給我的美好。

Looking back now, it’s true! I’m really happy to be able to play my favorite anime music and create different pieces based on my mood. It helps me relieve stress when facing pressure and truly enjoy the beauty that music brings to my life.

所以當有一天顧問我：「你能幫新竹愛心小隊網站做一首曲嗎?」

So when a consultant asked me one day, “Can you compose a song for the Hsinchu Love Action website?”

我想我可以的，回想音樂帶給我的是陪伴的愛、有溫度地、有回憶地。

I thought, I can do that. Looking back, music has given me companionship, warmth, and memories.

所以我也希望「好的」一切都能繼續的發生，新竹愛心小隊的愛能傳達出去並漫延開來。

So I also hope that “Good Day” will keep making things happen—that the love of the Hsinchu Love Squad can be shared and spread far and wide.
