2023 Summer 愛女孩DIY布衛生棉製作工作坊

當我們回顧於2023年9月16日舉行的活動，我們深感榮幸，因為那天我們有幸邀請到了愛女孩（Love Binti）的Monica來與我們的愛心小隊的學生，以及他們的親朋好友分享愛女孩在烏干達的故事 。

As we look back on the event held on September 16, 2023，we feel truly honored, for on that day， we had the privilege of inviting Monica from Love Binti to share a profoundly touching story with our compassionate team of students along with their friends and family。

這個活動的目的在於深化大家對於布衛生棉對非洲女孩的重要性的理解。

The purpose of this event was to deepen everyone's understanding of the significance of cloth sanitary pads for girls in Africa。

整個活動歷時三小時，首先有長約一小時的公益講座，接著由Monica主持的令人著迷的兩小時DIY布衛生棉製作工作坊，在這段時間，我們一起縫製布衛生棉，期許能讓那些生活在地球另一端的女孩們知道，有許多人真心關懷她們，並全力致力於讓這個世界變得更美好。

Spanning three hours，the event commenced with an hour-long public welfare lecture， followed by an engaging two-hour DIY cloth sanitary pad crafting workshop led by Monica.

During this time we stitched cloth sanitary pads together aiming to let girls living on the other side of the world know that there are many who genuinely care about them and are dedicated to making this world a better place.

我們舉辦這個活動的初衷，是為了提高對於世界另一端女孩在生理期間所面臨挑戰的認識──這對於在物資相對充足環境長大的人來說是難以想像的困難。我們希望我們的學生們能夠做更多，不僅在學業或職業上表現優秀，更要以實際行動來珍惜自己的生活，尊重他人的生活。透過布衛生棉的製作，我們也深入探討了環境教育和永續發展等當前熱門議題，展現我們積極參與人道主義和環保事業的決心。我們的目標是伸出援手的同時，也要保護我們珍貴的地球。

Our motivation for organizing this event was to raise awareness about the challenges girls face during their menstrual cycles on the other side of the globe—challenges that are almost unimaginable for those raised in more resource-abundant environments. We hoped that our students would do more than excel in their studies or careers; we wanted them to take concrete actions, cherish their own lives, and respect the lives of others. Through the creation of cloth sanitary pads, we also delved into pressing topics such as environmental education and sustainable development, showcasing our active involvement in both humanitarian and eco-friendly endeavors. Our goal was to lend a helping hand while also preserving our precious planet.

在公益講座期間，我們的學生深入了解了非洲女孩們每天所面臨的挑戰。參加活動的學生們熱情參與了與講師Monica的問答環節，並收到了Monica從烏干達帶回的小禮物──烏干達蜂蜜。烏干達蜂蜜的色澤和味道非常獨特，與我們台灣在地蜂蜜有所不同。我們的學生對這份貼心的禮物感到非常驚艷。通過積極參與布衛生棉的製作，他們收穫了真實的回饋和個人滿足感，有助於他們全面的成長。

During the public welfare lecture, our students gained a profound understanding of the challenges African girls face daily. Students who participated in the event actively engaged in a Q&A session with instructor Monica, and they received small gifts brought back from Uganda by Monica – handmade Ugandan honey. The color and taste of Ugandan honey are exceptionally unique, setting it apart from our local honey. Through their active participation in crafting cloth sanitary pads, they received genuine feedback and personal satisfaction, contributing to their comprehensive growth.

這個活動為學生們提供了實際體驗的學習機會，喚醒了他們的自我覺醒，教導他們珍惜自己的生活，同時伸出援手給予他人幫助的重要性。這培養了他們的社會責任感，並激發他們自願參與慈善活動的積極性。

This event provided students with a hands-on learning experience that awakened their sense of self-awareness. It taught them the importance of cherishing their own lives while extending help to those in need. It nurtured a sense of social responsibility and inspired voluntary involvement in charitable activities.

由學生們親手製作的布衛生棉，以及他們寫下的真摯信息，將由愛女孩的團隊帶去到烏干達。讓我們的學生們在助人的同時，也發現了自己的價值，並真誠關心社會議題。

The cloth sanitary pads they crafted, along with the heartfelt messages they wrote, will be delivered to Uganda by Love Binti's dedicated staff. These tokens of kindness will be given to girls there, allowing our students to discover their self-worth while making a positive impact and showing genuine concern for societal issues.

愛女孩希望能以學生們親手製作的布衛生棉作為禮物，鼓勵更多的烏干達女孩參加他們的縫紉活動。這樣，每位女孩將擁有兩片布衛生棉：一片是她們親手製作的，一片是我們製作並贈送的。這確保她們在經期來臨時可作替換使用。

Love Binti hopes to use the cloth sanitary pads crafted by our students as gifts to encourage more Ugandan girls to participate in their sewing activities. This way, each girl will have two cloth sanitary pads: one crafted by themselves during the event and one crafted and gifted by us. This ensures that they have a sustainable solution for their menstrual hygiene needs.

這個活動不僅僅是關於創造布衛生棉，更是關於將心靈連接在一起。它是通過同情心和共鳴，將來自世界不同角落的個體連接在一起的方式。愛女孩持續通過一針一線做出積極的影響。

This event wasn't just about creating cloth sanitary pads; it was about weaving hearts together. It was about uniting individuals from different corners of the world through empathy and compassion. Love Binti continues to make a positive impact, one stitch at a time.

關於愛女孩 LOVE BINTI：

愛女孩的存在旨在改善非洲婦女的生活和衛生條件，提升基礎建設，並為最不發達地區的婦女提供職業培訓支持。它幫助婦女獲得工作技能，改善經濟狀況，提高生理健康，從而造福社區、家庭和其他婦女。

自2015年以來，來自台灣的國際團隊「愛.女孩」從一片布衛生棉開始，改變了烏干達、肯亞和史瓦帝尼婦女的命運。他們已經舉辦了一千多場衛教課程，教授超過十四萬名女性如何製作布衛生棉。

在2020年，「愛.女孩」正式成為非營利組織，專注於女性培力和扶貧。
