This year, Hsinchu Love Action’s 11/11 Reusable Bottle Day was once again led entirely by students. From school campuses to the local community, students promoted a reduction in single-use plastics by encouraging everyone to bring reusable bottles.

Participants—Marcella Wu, Emma Cheng, Jennifer Hsu, Isabelle Chu, and Quinton Tsai—demonstrated strong commitment and environmental awareness.

Why We Do This

While single-use plastics may seem convenient, they create long-lasting environmental damage. The core purpose of Reusable Bottle Day is to help students recognize that sustainability begins with small, everyday actions that everyone can take.

Bring a bottle → Reduce single-use plasticReduce plastic → Lower microplastic risks in our bodies and oceansChange yourself → Influence your school and community

This is more than an environmental event—it's a student-led sustainability movement.

How Students Participated

1. Community Initiative: Use photos to tell the world "Say No to Plastic"

Students took photos with reusable bottles at school, in parks, on the street, or with family and friends, then posted them online with:

@Hsinchu_Love_Action

With social media outreach, more people saw how young students care about environmental issues, amplifying the impact of this initiative.

2. Watch the microplastics video: Understanding the science behind the action.

To reinforce the purpose behind the action, all participants watched a video about microplastics (in either Chinese or English) to better understand their impact on human health and marine ecosystems.

Impact

The five students demonstrated leadership, creativity, and teamwork. Their influence encouraged peers, teachers, and family members to join the movement, allowing the impact to extend beyond a single day.

  • More students now bring water bottles daily

  • Parents and teachers joined in

  • School communities recognized students’ environmental leadership

  • Plastic reduction became a habit, not a one-time event

These small yet meaningful changes are the true value of this sustainability movement.

結語|Small Action, Big Impact

This initiative was led by high school students, yet its impact is real and lasting.Every photo taken, every reusable bottle raised, every refusal of a plastic cup sends a message:

Change doesn’t have to be big—but it has to begin.

Let’s continue to take action and build a cleaner, more sustainable future—one refill at a time.
